Skipper's Course |

| 20 hours on our Pearson 303 (30') |
This is our primary to intermediate sailing skills course. It is taught on a fully equipped 30' cruising sailboat. This is our core course and it's best for most people. All instruction is given on the boat, on the water. Includes sailing theory, points of sail, sail trim, sailing on and off moorings, man overboard drills, tacking, jibing and reefing. Basic navigation instruction includes chart reading, course plotting, rules of the road, collision avoidance the buoyage system, and use of GPS. You sail the boat right away in the first lesson in all kinds of weather, and perform crew assignments on a rotating basis. If you start with no experience, you should be able to skipper boats of 18' to 24' by the end of the course; and larger boats with additional practice.

One four hour lesson on our 30' cruising sailboat, or your boat. Available for your party of one to six people. We can cover our standard lesson material, or tailor the lesson to suit your individual needs at times convenient for your schedule. Navigation training can also be included in one or more private lessons.
