As seen in Summer Guide Sailing in Marblehead

--
Since 1972, Bert Williams has been a regular fixture in Marblehead Harbor. With four sailboats and two powerboats he has taught countless students the art of sailing. His Coastal Sailing School is based on his boats, where Bert gives intense, learn-by-doing lessons.

We tagged along for a lesson, watching Bert impart his knowledge to Marie Mannion of Derry, NH and John O'Keefe of Quincy, MA. For four hours Marie and John, jokingly called "the scurvy dogs," worked hard under Bert's watchful eye and exacting standards.

The pictures below are scenes from the lesson, held on a calm and dismal, than sunny and breezy, than foggy Friday afternoon in May. --
