Marblehead Harbor has been the home port of Coastal Sailing School for over 30 years. Learn to sail from this scenic, historic, sailing center - birthplace of the American Navy.

At Coastal Sailing School, you'll learn to sail on our fully equipped Pearson 30' cruising sailboat. Each class is conducted on board the boat, out on the water. You'll sail through Marblehead Harbor, Salem Harbor, and surrounding ocean waters. You'll learn by doing, and sail the boat right away in the first lesson. Conveniently, it's only a 30-minute drive from downtown Boston.

Coastal Sailing School founder Bert Williams has cruised New England waters for over 35 years. He holds a 100-ton Coast Guard captains license, is an experienced Caribbean charterboat captain, former college Dean, former Salem State College continuing education instructor, and is a Private Pilot.

About 30 years ago he sailed into Marblehead Harbor on a 30' sloop. He loved the town's quaint harborfront so much he stayed and founded Coastal Sailing School. Over the years he helped thousands of people learn how to sail.

Coastal's focus has always been to provide a superior level of personalized instruction on cruising sailboats. "We've always done all the teaching out on the water, rather than in classrooms," says Williams. Bert usually does all the teaching himself. This is an opportunity to receive instruction from a highly experienced New England sailing captain.
